Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will speakat the Colorado Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner on March 5. Gov. Patrick — who won re-election last November despite so-so approval ratings and being seen as all but dead after Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s surprise win in January — is seen by some in the White House as a model for Barack Obama’s re-election, according to a December New Republic story:

Another modelfor President Obama’s re-election, according to David Axelrod, is Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet’s win over Republican Ken Buck last November.
