The presidential campaign for U.S. Rep. Ron Paulis reporting that a weekend fundraising push, completed over a 24 hour period, netted $1.6 million in small, individual donations.
“Our campaign is surging, and today’s money bomb results show the strength of our grassroots support,” said Jesse Benton, campaign chairman. “We’ve just come off an impressive finish in the Iowa straw poll, and our growing poll numbers and strong fundraising proves that our message is resonating with people.”
The campaign is also reporting that the fundraising was achieved despite a cyber-attack being launched against the campaign website during its online money bomb, which shut down the site for at least a few hours.
The weekend fundraising marks the fourth time the Paul campaign has said it achieved more than $1 million in one-day fundraising sprees.
