Assisted suicide advocate Jack Kervorkian has died at the age of 83 after a long battle with kidney and heart problems. His attorney Mayer Morganroth tells the Free Press that Kervorkian died as the result of “pulmonary thrombosis when a blood clot from his leg broke free and lodged in his heart.” Kervorkian made headlines in the 90s when he assisted or was present at 130 suicides of terminally ill residents of the state. That advocacy led to a 1999 conviction on second degree murder charges.
