Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, a Pennsylvania Republican, will be a guest on WHO Radio’s “Mickelson in the Morning” show Tuesday in Iowa, show host Jan Mickelsonsaid Friday.
Mickelson speculated, as many are, that Santorum will make his presidential candidacy official Monday, “otherwise, why would he come here after?” he said with a chuckle. A schedule sent to members of the press describe the Pennsylvania event as “a major announcement regarding the 2012 race for President of the United States.”
Mickelson, who reports on a variety of topics, particularly education, government and politics, said there is no planned discussion for Tuesday’s show.
“It’ll be wide, open conversation, just like with any candidate,” he said.
Following his on-air interview with Mickelson, Santorum will meet briefly with members of the media before taking part in a closed-door event with Iowa Right to Life.
Although Santorum’s schedule has him back in New Hampshire on Wednesday, it is anticipated that additional Iowa events will soon appear on his Tuesday agenda.
