The centrist advocacy group No Labelsreleased a report Tuesday saying that only 175 House members are holding town halls this August. In New Mexico, Reps. Steve Pearce and Ben Ray Luján are, while Rep. Martin Heinrich, who is running for U.S. Senate, is not.
A Heinrich spokesperson told the APthat he is holding job fairs and conducting a telephone town hall. Politico recently reportedon pay-to-enter town halls for Reps. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ben Quayle (R-AZ), and others who have found themselves facing contentious town halls recently.
