Americans for Prosperity: Almost all Fla. GOP legislators get A’s, Dems get F’s

Florida’s chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the Koch brothers-funded right-wing political organization, just released their “2011 Legislative Scorecard,” giving nearly every GOP member of the state Legislature an A or A+ and nearly every Democrat an F. According to the scorecard (.pdf), a total of 79 Republican members of the Legislature received an A+ (100 percent) rating from the group. Americans for Prosperity graded the legislators based on their votes in favor of 12 bills aimed at lowering taxes, undermining the federal health care reform law, reforming the pensions and benefits of government employees, allowing the expansion of charter schools and loosening regulations on businesses in the state.

State Sen. Joe Negron, R-Palm City, and state Rep. Scott Plakon, R-Longwood, were named the group’s “2011 Legislators of the Year.”
Almost all the Democrats in the Legislature recieved an F. State Reps. Richard Steinberg, D-Miami Beach, and Mark Pafford, D-West Palm Beach, received the lowest scores from the group: a zero percent.
