It’s that time of the election cycle again. Fundraising winners and losers are starting to separate from the pack. One Colorado congressman, Scott Tipton, seems to be drawing the wrong kind of attention, asThe Washington Post Sunday named him as one of the quarter’s losers, raising only about half what fellow Colorado freshman Cory Gardner raised.
More troubling for Tipton is that he barely out-raised Democrat challenger Sal Pace, who only recently got in the race and only recently started raising money.
According to The Associate Press, Tipton raised about $150,000 last quarter, compared to about $100,000 for Pace. Colorado’s leading House fundraiser was Rep. Ed Perlmutter, who reeled in about $224,000.
