Agema has introduced a host of controversial pieces of legislation this session: a plan to end the Health Michigan Initiative Fund, which in part underwrites the state’s entire HIV grant funding, and direct that money to airport upkeep; legislation to outlaw “foreign” laws, specifically Sharia, from operating in the state; and legislation to punish state universitiesthat offer partner benefits to same sex couples. He is also trying to move legislation to address illegal immigration.
