John McCain and Barack Obama are both stumping in Colorado, continuing the trend that started last week when the two candidates jawed about veterans in New Mexico.
For Obama, proximity to McCain plays to the media consensus that the general election campaign has already begun without having to mention a certain rival who, after all, has to concede or be defeated. At the same time, Obama picked up another superdelegate: Pat Waak, the chair of the Colorado Democratic state party who had previously vowed not to endorse any candidate because of Colorado’s role as the host the national convention in August.
