Rahm Emanuel — the usually outspoken Illinois congressman who has remained oddly quiet during the Democratic primary contest — is causing a bit of a stir.
"At this point, Barack is the presumptive nominee," Emanuel said Friday at a conference organized by The New Yorker.
As Sam Stein reportson Huffington Post, he continued, "Hillary can’t win but something could happen that Barack could lose the nomination."
Emanuel didn’t bite when asked if Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race. Instead, he said, "Next question!"
A spokesperson for Emanuel tried to calm things down, arguing (spinning) that all he meant was that Obama is the front-runner. Hmm.
One thing is clear: It’s going to be a long weekend for Hillary Clinton.
