Obama Unveils Former DNC Super

After controlling much of the media cycle yesterday with former Democratic National Committee Chairman Joe Andrew’s switcheroo, the Obama camp must be looking to accomplish the same feat today by announcing fellow former DNC Chairman Paul Kirk’s endorsement. ABC has the detailson Kirk, who was the chairman of the DNC from 1985 to 1989.
This brings the superdelegate tally 272 for Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and 250 for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), adding to MSNBC’s tallyat the end of the day yesterday.
I think this Obama strategy of announcing a big superdelegate early in the morning is a good one; it immediately puts the Clinton camp on defense, making her team prove they still have some superdelegates up their sleeve, or at least that they are successfully convincing superdelegates not to endorse yet. Stay tuned to see how Clinton responds.
