While a key superdelegate switchedover to the Obama camp this morning, the Clinton camp will refill Joe Andrew’s slot with Connecticut AFL-CIO president John Olsen, the Hartford Courant reports. Clinton also picked upPennsylvania AFL-CIO president Bill George yesterday.
For those of you scoring at home, this brings the superdelagate tally to 268 for Clinton, 248 for Obama, per MSNBC. While every superdelegate endorsement matters now, Andrew’s switch to Obama this morning is the big news. Obama continues to out duel Clinton for superdelegates, a problem for Clinton. Clinton has to convince superdelegates that Obama has an electability problem if she wants them to help her win the nomination. With more and more superdelegates flocking to Obama, it looks like Clinton is having a tough time making that argument.
