LEESBURG, Va. — Tito the Builder made an appearance here today.
Tito Munoz, like Joe the Plumber, is a Sen. John McCain campaign supporter who represents the small-business voting bloc that McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, have been courting the past few weeks. Munoz became a fixture in Palin’s stump speeches after she heard his story from McCain.
Munoz owns Deborn Construction, Inc., of Woodbridge. He introduced Palin here by saying, “Everything we stand for is endangered by higher taxes and less freedom,” Munoz said.
Palin says Munoz, a Colombian immigrant, told her, “I was born in Colombia, but I was made in the USA.”
The crowd went wild, chanting “Tito, Tito.”
Palin also noted that his name reminds her of The Jackson 5.
This crowd is into chants. A new one: “Bless your heart! Bless your heart!”
Palin got a kick out of “Use your brain, vote McCain!”
As did I.
The crowd is quite boisterous, but the head count is difficult to determine. I’m guessing a few thousand.
