With less than a week until the general election, Christians are stepping up their involvement in the race.
There is PrayforSarahPalin.com, a Website that invites Christians to pray for all candidates but singles out Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her family for extra prayers. The goal is to blanket the country with prayers for Palin by having someone in every zip code pray for the GOP vice presidential nominee. From the Website:
“„There is a spiritual battle waging over the United States of America. This website is a call to pray for those who are in authority over us now as well as those who will be elected to become the leaders of our country. Because Sarah Palin has been thrust suddenly into the spotlight, we are calling all Christians to say an extra prayer for Sarah.
The site is paid for by “supporters of McCain-Palin.”
In contrast, over at the unchallenged capital of crackpottery, WorldNetDaily, columnist Janet Porter taps the crazy kegwith a grave warning to Christians. In a piece subtly titled, “You cannot be a Christian and vote for Obama,” Porter argues that eternal damnation awaits the souls of any who would commit the most grievous of deadly sins – voting for the Democratic presidential nominee. Not surprisingly, Porter’s thesis rests on Sen. Barack Obama’s pro-choice position on abortion. “„To all those who name the name of Christ who plan to willfully disobey Him by voting for Obama, take warning. Not only is our nation in grave danger, according to the Word of God, so are you.
Repent, ye sinners and Obama supporters!
