It’s Not Easy Being Joe

You know all that chatter about the possibility of Joe Lieberman as John McCain’s running mate?
Well a new poll commissioned by Daily Kos suggests that Lieberman — the Democrat-turned-Independent who has endorsed a Republican — would actually hurt McCain’s chances in Connecticut, which Lieberman has represented in the Senate since 1988. A whopping 31 percent of likely voters say Lieberman’s name on the ballot would make them less likely to vote for McCain, while 18 percent say they’d be more inclined to vote for him.
But then again, Gore (and Lieberman) carried the Nutmeg state 56-38 in 2000, and Kerry won it handily in 2004. So maybe how it plays in Hartford won’t matter to McCain.
