Thanks to The Politico for going where few have dared: the credentials committee, which would hold the cards if the fight about seating contested delegates from Florida and Michigan makes it all the way to this summer’s Democratic National Convention. The Politico tapped Matt Seyfang, an attorney and delegate counter for past Democratic presidential candidates, to conduct its analysis. He found that Hillary Clinton "will not have enough pledged votes on the 169-member Credentials Committee to deliver a majority decision in her favor."
But that doesn’t mean things still couldn’t go Clinton’s way in Denver.
Her only hope of getting the key committee to vote out a “majority report” supporting her position rests on her ability to persuade an as-yet-undetermined number of the 25 members appointed to the committee by party Chairman Howard Dean to cast votes for her position.
Time to set those speed dials.
