There isn’t much that’s "average" about the voters who showed up at this week’s Take Back Americaconfab in Washington. A whopping 55 percent call themselves progressive, and 32 percent say they’re liberal.
But the just-released results of a straw poll conducted during the three-day meeting are interesting.
The crowd favors Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, 72 percent to 16 percent. When this group of advocates and activists was asked how they would feel if Clinton is the Democratic nominee for president, 41 percent said they would be dissatisfied. Just 8 percent said they would be dissatisfied if Obama is on the top of the ticket.
One more thing: a surprising 49 percent think there should be new primary contests in Florida and Michigan, with the pledged delegates allocated based on those results.
