Cleveland’s hometown hero, Dennis Kucinich, isn’t in the running for the Democratic presidential nomination.
But bright yellow Dennis! posters — with a peace sign at the point of the exclamation mark — are scattered across the city, and he still has plenty to worry about on Tuesday.
Kucinich, a former Cleveland mayor who was elected to Congress in 1996, is facing a surprisingly strong primary challenge from Joe Cimperman. The city councilman says Kucinich has been distracted by his presidential ambitions and his district has suffered as a result.
It’s not the kind of primary drama Kucinich was hoping for.
