According to Eason Jordan at subscription-only IraqSlogger, the Maliki government is charging shoe-throwing journalist Muntader al-Zaidiwith “insulting the Iraqi state,” whatever that means. His network, al-Baghadiya TV, is “telecasting hours of live phone calls and SMS text messages from across Iraq, the Arab world and Europe voicing sympathy and support” for al-Zaidi, Jordan reports.
