There was good news for the Clinton campaign this morning. A Quinnipiac pollout Thursday shows Hillary Clinton with "commanding leads" over Barack Obama among likely Democratic primary voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
With Obama’s recent string of wins, the Clinton camp is setting up the March 4 votes in Ohio and Texas as a sort of firewall for her campaign, and hoping to pick up more ground with the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.
But some Clinton supporters are worried that the firewall may not be strong enough. Don Fowler, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, endorsed Clinton in December. While he still stands by her, Fowler told me yesterday that Obama’s momentum is infectious."If he continues to run the board and win all the states between now and March the 4th," Fowler said, "I’m not sure that Texas and Ohio will hold."
