The delay comes as a bit of a surprise since two minority members, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Sen. Mel Martinez (D-Fla.) have both announced their support of Holder’s nomination. Despite this, Specter, supposedly representing the minority, has complainedabout “rushed hearings” since Holder’s name was put in for attorney general.
The committee has been loosely scheduled to reconvene next week.
