The office of House Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) has been forwarding that Rasmussen pollto reporters, with the topline “A stimulus plan that includes only tax cuts is now more popular than the economic recovery plan being considered in Congress.”
Cantor spokesman Brad Dayspring also commented on Bill Kristol’s suggestionthat the contents of the conference committee’s version of the stimulus package go online for at least 48 hours before a vote. “I think it’s good advice,” said Dayspring. “Surely taxpayers have, at a minimum, the right to have two days to know how the Democrats’ plan to spend a trillion of their hard earned dollars.”
In early January, Cantor told President Obama (in one of the first bipartisan meetings) to make the entire contents of the bill available online, and the president greed. But the White House hasn’t actually uploaded the bill yet. Independent groups have put it all online, and Republicans have pointed out which items they consider wasteful.
