Really! The Republican Policy Committee in the Senate is distributing a two-page fact sheeton the stimulus called “Democrats’ Partisan $1.2 Trillion Spending Bill by the Numbers.” Among the abuses:
“„10,000: Jobs created at NASA at a cost to taxpayers of $1.5 billion under the Senate bill
The point, of course is that $1.5 billion is a lot of money for 10,000 theoretical jobs. And it’s such a powerful point for the RPC that the number is listed again at the end of the fact sheet, as another abuse:
“„$1,502,000,000 Spent at NASA to hire 10,000 people in Senate bill
That’s a lot of anger at a line in the bill that actually creates jobs.
