Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.),brought a bill to the floor that would have killed all stimulus spending and replaced it with tax cuts. This bill was voted down 16 hours ago, but 36 Republicans voted for it. So the answer is: 36 Republican senators. If Republicans didn’t want to be labelled tax cuts zealots, perhaps they should have voted against this.
