“„Reid said he believes at least two Republicans of “good will” would support the Democratic-crafted package.
“„“Do we have the votes? We believe we do,” said Reid, who expects a final vote on the package will be held on Thursday.
Reid didn’t name the Republicans he has in mind, but you can bet they’ll come from the same crop of four who voted last nightagainst a GOP amendmentto scrap all the spending in the stimulus and replace it with tax cuts.
Those four are: Sens. Olympia Snowe (Me.), Susan Collins (Me.), George Voinovich (Ohio) and Arlen Specter (Pa.).
