Gallup is out today with a pollthat puts support for “a new law that would make it easier for labor unions to organize workers” at 53 percent, to only 39 percent who oppose it. Labor is touting the poll, but Save Our Secret Ballot, whom I wrote about last month, is having none of this.
“The Union’s poll is beyond worthless,” said SOSB National coordinator Tim Mooney, referring to Gallup. “The Union poll tested the concept of making it easier to join a union, not the language of the proposed legislation. Save Our Secret Ballot tested its actual constitutional language to guarantee a secret ballot for all elections including union organizing elections. While just a bare majority supported the conceptual Union position, an overwhelming 85 percent of voters favor the actual language of the amendment to constitutionally protect secret ballots.”
