Jim Tedisco, the Republican candidate in New York’s 20th Congressional District race who took weeks to explain that he would have voted against the economic stimulus package, is attacking Democrat Scott Murphy for supporting it — on the grounds that the stimulus is responsible for AIG’s bonus scandal.
“Question for Scott Murphy,” asks the NRCC in a news release. “Did Scott Murphy Ever Actually Read the Bill or Did he Knowingly Support a Bill That Would Hand out Millions in Taxpayer-Funded Bonuses to Wall Street Executives?”
The statement keys off two days of Tedisco attackson Murphy, pushing this theme to a skeptical local press.
