Committee Holds Rove in Contempt

In my pieceon Karl Rove’s written denials about his involvement in Don Siegelman’s prosecution, I speculated that the House Judiciary Committee would nonetheless hold Rove in criminal contempt. And that’s exactly what happened today during a house judiciary committee meeting this morning.
TPM Muckraker reportsthat the committee voted 20-14 to hold Rove in contempt for not providing verbal, public testimony. The President has given Rove executive privilege not to testify.
