“„The only reason Mark Begich won the election in November is because a few thousand Alaskans thought that Senator Ted Stevens was guilty of seven felonies.
First of all, the Department of Justice’s decision doesn’t exonerate Stevens. Second, couldn’t Democrats say the same thing in Minnesota?
Right before election day, Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) wasimplicated in complicated casethat involved a donor funnelling money to Coleman’s wife. Coleman brushed off the case and accused Al Franken of attacking his family, but given what we’ve learned since then, are there are a few thousand voters who regret not knowing more and supporting Coleman?
Third, is the Alaska GOP going to say anything about Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska)’s pre-election call for Stevens to resignfrom the Senate?
