Rick Hasen at Election Law Blogthinks so. Though I still think Sonia Sotomayor’s the better pick, Hasen think’s it’ll be Wood because she’s: a) a woman; b) a known entity from within President Obama’s trusted University of Chicago circle; c) a progressive with an excellent reputation; d) harder to attack than, say, Sotomayor, who has that potential temperament problem (which personally I think has been overblown); and e) not too bold.
While Hasen makes a fairly convincing case, he also acknowledges that he “could be totally wrong on everything.”
