Other than that, President Obama simply acknowledged the obvious, which is that “there’s not by any means consensus around the table” on immigration reform, but “after all the demagoguery, we’ve got a responsible set of leaders who want to get things done.” He commended Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in particulart, and promised to get to work on hammering out a solution to the immigration problem, which he acknowledged “needs fixing.”
