Via Politico’s Ben Smith. Have you ever wanted to try your hand at investigative reporting? If so, now’s your chance.
The city of Wasilla, Alaska, has posted online a collection of documentsfrom Gov. Sarah Palin’s six-year stint as the town’s mayor, as well as her two previous years on the city council. You, too, can participate in the frequently thankless, soul-crushingly tedious, but occasionally rewarding (just ask TWI’s Laura McGann) work of poring over city financial reports, operations and capital budgets, and tax revenues.
You can even read the city’s official response(PDF) to inquiries about Palin’s alleged book-banning proclivities — though. I should warn you that you may be disappointed.
So go ahead, have at it! Be sure to email any potential Pulitzer-winning discoveries you unearth to mdelong(at)washingtonindependent(dot)com.
Just kidding.
Sort of.
