Doug Mataconis, who has been watching Republicans accept birther lawyer Orly Taitz’s friend requests on Facebook, catches Taitz reactingto her newest friend — Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
I am in total disbelief and greatly honored. Eric Cantor, Republican whip, second ranked Republican congressman has joined congresswoman Mary Bono and became my friend on Facebook. To me it means that the leadership of the Republican party understands the importance of the issues and legal cases I brought forward.
Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican candidate for attorney general of Virginia, has also befriendedTaitz. Politicians don’t exactly scour their friend lists or screen applicants — they rarely see the value in having a pruned-down list versus a huge, sprawling one, since they will end up as recipients of press releases — but Taitz has started to get some notoriety as a fringe figure who’s encouraging soliders to disobey their orders.
Update: Taitz follows upto brag that RNC chairman Michael Steelehas accepted her friend request.
