[T]he biggest hurdle has been figuring out how to maneuver without violating congressional ethics rules that specifically forbid lawmakers from using their offices for explicitly political purposes … “Eric Cantor is a smart guy with a bright future,” said one Republican aide. “If he’d taken a little more time to figure it out and a little less thinking of the next day headlines, this thing could’ve been a real success.”
