MR. GIBBS: We look forward to observing what happens tomorrow and hope that it’s safe and secure.
Can’t really blame himfor that dodge. But perhaps the point isn’t getting through that Afghans are the people who have to consider the elections legitimate in the final analysis — not us, not the international community. Well, we do— it’s still our money and they’re still our troops there — but our perspectives here aren’t as important as those of the Afghans.
