Following up on my item earlier today, a source inside the VA tells me that the “pulled” copy of a guide to living wills that’s been made available to veterans was actually only pulled by one hospital in Puget Sound. And it had nothing to do with the “death panel” attack.
“The Department of Veterans Affairs has not ‘pulled’ the document,’ said my source. “VA Medical Centers around the country were instructed to link to the YLYC document on the national VA website. In the case you’re citing, the Puget Sound VA Medical Center should have previously removed their version of the document and linked to the national site.”
