In a major turnaround for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, she told ABC News, in an interview that aired last night, that she doesn’t disagree with scientists who say human activity is contributing to global warming.
Palin, however, tried to claim this is not a new stand for her. She insisted: “Show me where I have ever said that there’s absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change.”
“„She has told the Internet news site Newsmax, “A changing environment will affect more than any other state, because of our location. … I’m not one, though, who would attribute it to being man-made.”
And again, here:
“„In an interview with a Fairbanks newspaper within the last year, Palin said: “I’m not an , doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity.”
Clearly the GOP memo hadn’t made it all the way up to Alaska on this. Even President George W. Bush has given up questioning the science on this one. Though, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency is doing everything he can to drag his feeton the issue.
