On Wednesday, American Solutions for Winning the Future, a conservative 527 group founded by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), notifieda pornography studio executive that she’d won the group’s 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Needless to say, Allison Vivas, president of Pink Visual, was shocked at the news.
“„“I’m honored, and more than a little surprised, to receive this prestigious award,” Vivas said. “It never occurred to me that Newt Gingrich, one of the principal architects of the conservative ‘Contract with America’ in the 1990′s, would be willing to brave criticism from the far right of his party in order to recognize good work done on the part of an adult entertainment professional.”
Turns out it was an error. Media Mattersjust received a statement from an ASWF spokesman indicating that the message delivered to Vivas “was sent by mistake.”
“We regret the error,” spokesman Dan Kotman added.
