Perhaps Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s new, harsher rhetoric on Iranhas a specific catalyst. The New York Times reportsthat President Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and French President Nicholas Sarkozy will disclose that Iran has for years constructed an undisclosed — and as-yet-unoperational — nuclear facility. The announcement is set for 8:30 this morning at the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh.

On Monday, Iran wrote a brief, cryptic letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency, saying that it now had a “pilot plant” under construction, whose existence it had never before revealed.
