A new Pew Research Poll with some good news for Republicans also includes this data:
[J]ob approval ratings for Democratic leaders in Congress have plummeted, from 47% in March to 33% currently. Approval ratings for Republican congressional leaders now stand at 24%, which is down slightly from March (28%). This is the lowest approval measure for GOP leaders in 15 years of Pew Research Center surveys.
Obviously, being nine points less popular than the Democrats is better than being 19 points less popular. The hope for party strategists is that next year’s electorate simply contains more angry Republicans and fewer disappointed Democrats.
