The Body (Almost) Throws His Hat in the Ring « The Washington Independent

Well, it’s almost official. Jesse Ventura — former professional wrestler, Predator stalker and Minnesota governor — will likely enter the tight Senate race against Republican incumbent Norm Coleman (R) and Democratic challenger Al Franken, the former Saturday Night Live comedian, according to an NPR interviewthat aired this morning.
Never at a loss for words, Ventura has been touring the country promoting his new book, "Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me," all the while blastingColeman as a "chicken-hawk" and Franken as a "carpetbagger." The comments have left observers wondering if the former Navy SEAL was launching a campaign or just selling books. In the NPR interview, Ventura all but reveals that it’s the former:
All you Minnesotans take a good, hard look at the three of us. And you decide, if you were in a dark alley, which one of the three of us would you want with you.
Our sister site, Minnesota Independent, has been monitoring Ventura’s possible return to public life lately, including an assessment of whether the former guv’s home in Mexicowould violate Minnesota’s residency requirements, and a look back at Ventura’s tumultuous 1998-2002 tenureas governor.
Doesn’t much sound like a guy who plans to sit this one out.
