Recent polls sponsored by the Club for Growth and the Minuteman PAC, which show Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman surging into the lead in the three-way NY-23 race, have had a sizable effect on coverage of the election. But Steven Greenberg of the Siena Poll, which has conducted the only non-partisan (in the sense that Siena College is not endorsing anyone) surveys on the race, said that he was skeptical of the other pollsters’ results.
“It’s hard to believe the Republican candidate could fall to 14 percent.,” he said, referring to the Minuteman PAC’s poll. “The truth of matter, is that polls done by various candidates, campaigns, or interest groups, are not at same level as polls by Siena or other independent, non-affiliated organizations who have been polling in New York for years.”
Greenberg told TWI that Siena’s final poll in the race would be in the field soon, and that he was aiming for a weekend release.
