Via USA Today, White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer has denied that the administration is pressuring Senate Democrats to forge a deal with Sen. Joe Lieberman(I-Conn.) on health care reform, as Politico reportedearlier today.
“The report is inaccurate,” he said in an email. “The White House is not pushing Sen. Reid in any direction. We are working hand in hand with the Senate leadership to work through the various issues and pass health reform as soon as possible.”
Senate Democrats have called an emergency meeting at 5:30 this evening to brainstorm ways around the Lieberman hurdle.
