The delightfully strange Russian propaganda network RT (formerly Russia Today) spends some time with Pastor James David Manning, one of the three or four most entertaining characters in the parallel universe of Barack Obama conspiracy theories. Manning rose to “fame” with a January 2008 video of a sermon in which he labeled Barack Obama a “long-legged mack daddy”— the cognitive dissonance of an African-American preacher launching racist attacks against Obama created a minor sensation, although the original video has been deleted. After that, Manning latched onto basically every Obama conspiracy theory, even appearing at one of the first Washington, D.C., “birther” events.
RT’s video (after the jump) is full of the network’s classic clumsy writing — “Where exactly Pastor Manning’s statements will lead him remains in the shadows” — and a good look at a particularly strange case of Obama obsession.
