…At least that’s what I see happening in the Massachusetts gubernatorial election. Yesterday, state Treasurer Tim Cahill, who’s running an independent campaign for governor, showily stated thathealth care reform legislation would “threaten to wipe out the American economy within four years.” The GOP’s likely candidate, Charlie Bakerdefended Massachusetts’health care mandate.
Now, I think, is a good time to talk about reforming it, and rethinking some of the program components. But I would not say so far it’s bankrupted the Commonwealth.
Reid Wilson’s takeon this race — that it pits McCain staff (Cahill) against Romney staff (Baker) — looks more and more prescient.
