After several reporters spent a good fifteen minutes looking at each other following Sen. John McCain’s speech at the University of Nevada Las Vegas trying to figure out what"strategic independence"means, NBC’s Adam Aigner called the McCain campaign for clarification.
Here’s what they said: "Strategic independence is when oil is no longer the primary fuel for our transportation and the oil cartel no longer has the ability to undermine our economy or the paychecks of American workers."
Normally we would parse this definition and determine whether it actually holds up to the Merriam-Webster threshold. But I’ve decided that time would be better spent eating a giant oatmeal raisin cookie and watching YouTube videos with my very bored colleagues.
