After Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) withdrew from the process of drafting comprehensive climate legislation last month — to protest Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) prioritization of immigration reform — observers were left wondering whether Graham would still be inclined to support the eventual bill, even if he wasn’t part of its unveiling. Prospects looked dim when Graham indicated to Talking Points Memothat he would filibuster the bill unless Reid abandoned immigration reform this Congress — something Reid has shown no sign of doing.
But Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), who along with Graham and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) has taken the lead in drafting climate legislation, tells Roll Callthat Graham will still vote for the bill.
