Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) appears to have survived her tough primary runoff tonight against Lt. Gov. Bill Halter (D) in Arkansas’ Senate race. The Associated Press called the race for Lincoln, who led 52 to 48 percent with nearly 10 percent of precincts remaining to be counted Tuesday night.
Halter’s defeat is a major loss for labor groups, who spent significantly on the race in the hopes of defeating the incumbent. But celebrating is short-lived for Lincoln, who still faces a difficult November race against Republican Rep. John Boozman.
