When most people hear Watergate, after Nixon, the first two names that come to mind are Woodward and Bernstein. The two Washington Post reporters are largely credited with breaking the scandal and taking down Richard Nixon’s presidency. But W. Joseph Campbell, author of the new book “Getting It Wrong: Ten of the Greatest Misreported Stories in American Journalism,” argued yesterday in Washington that their central role is a “media-driven myth.”
