Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is up with the first advertisementof her write-in bid to hold her seat representing Alaska in the U.S. Senate.
Just last month, she lost the GOP nomination to an upstart, tea party–backed candidate named Joe Miller, who succeeded in labeling her the consummate Washington insider. Now that their roles have flipped, however, she’s up with an ad warning voters of the outside interests that will surely flood the airwaves on Miller’s behalf and distort her stellar record of serving Alaskans:
One data point working in favor of Murkowski’s new outsider stance is that fact that Senate Republicans strippedher of her ranking member status on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee yesterday. Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) is expected to take over after her demotion, which was reportedly orchestrated by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
